New York State (NY) is one of the most densely populated states of the US and gets visited by millions of tourists from all across the world. This has resulted in a substantial increase in the population. There are millions of auto vehicles including cars, motorbikes, trucks and other vehicles plying on the New York’s narrow and congested roads. There are several injury and accident cases reported from New York City (NYC) each and every day. Some of these accidents could result in serious injuries. A personal injury can also result from the negligence or deliberate actions of some individual or authority. If you are involved in any such type of accident or have received personal injuries then you could be eligible for the personal injury compensation.

Some of the accidents can result in minor or major injuries which can sometimes prove fatal to the victim. Most of the accidents happen due to negligence of the drivers, driver conditions, or maybe due to drunken driving. It is unfortunate that innocent victims become part of the accident which was never their fault. Further, most of these at-fault individuals who caused the accident can easily get away from their responsibility and are not charged under Criminal law (since it was an an accident and not a deliberate action).

However, a dangerous action by an individual such as a rash-driving or driving under influence can be brought to justice under the New York’s Personal Injury Law. In several of these cases it is observed that the other auto drivers/pedestrians got fatally injured as a result of these negligent acts.

New York State (NYS) Personal Injury Law handles these cases and provides justice and compensation to the victims of negligence or negligent actions of some individual, authority or entity (private or public). If you or your loved ones are a victim of personal injury within New York then you should get in touch with a New York personal injury attorney who will help you receive justice and compensation. Your personal injury claim will provide compensation for the medical bills, medical treatment, injury, trauma and several others. It will also provide compensation for the lost wages (if the victim is an earning individual or sole bread winner of their family).

There are a few professional personal injury attorneys who work on contingency basis. These lawyers will provide their legal services without charging anything from you. They will only get a percentage from the final compensation amount, only if they are able to win your case and the compensation amount. This way, you don’t have to pay anything before hiring a personal injury attorney.

Your personal injury attorney will work on the victim’s behalf. A personal injury attorney has specialization in various types of personal injuries including auto accident injuries, medical malpractice, birth injuries and several other types of personal injuries. If your lawyer is well versed with the different types of injury cases can your chances of winning a case will be higher.

If you are involved in an accident then you could also receive some odd responses from your insurance company. Most of the people purchase insurance covers in order to help and provide support to their families in case of any unfortunate accident or injury. However, most of these insurance companies use under-hand tactics to nullify your genuine compensation amount. They will try their best to find loopholes in your injury claim and there are several cases where genuine injury compensation claims were denied by the insurance companies.

Therefore you must get in touch with your personal injury attorney who will help you receive justice and compensation for your injuries. Your injury attorney will guide you on how to pursue your case and will help you receive compensation from the negligent individual, authority or entity involved.

New York Personal Injury Attorney – 866-ATTY-LAW represents victims of personal injuries, accident injuries, and medical malpractice/negligence within New York (NY). Call us at 1-866-ATTY-LAW for a free legal consultation.

BMW initially began building motorcycle engines; and then complete motorcycles. Its motorcycle division is now known as BMW Motorbike. The bikes had a “Boxer” twin engine, in which an ICCE cylinder protrudes into the air-flow from each side of the machine. Apart from their singles (basically the same pattern), all their motorcycles had used this distinctive layout until the early 1980s. Many BMWs are still produced using this pattern, which is designated the R Series.

The K Series (affectionately known as “The Flying Brick”), is still a shaft drive, but now water cooled and with either 3 or 4 cylinders mounted in a straight line from front to the back. Shortly after, BMW also started making the chain-driven F and G series with single and parallel twin Rotax engines.

BMW GS Model

The GS has been available with a range of different engines including single cylinder, twin cylinder water-cooled and twin cylinder air or oil cooled.

The first shaft driven GS model was the R 80 G/S with a 797 cc flat-twin, air-cooled boxer engine. The BMW 247 engine, which was also fitted to many other bikes in the BMW family, is known as an airhead. The most valued version was the R 80 G/S- model featuring a larger tank. In certain markets, a 649 cc R 65 GS version was also available. These early machines used a combined rear suspension / drive Swingarms called a Monolever. Airhead models still have a following among adventure motorcyclists and often sell at a premium price when compared with bikes of a similar age.

BMW motorcycles were always associated with durability and strength. This allowed BMW was able to survive. However, the key to their endurance was thanks in part to the increasing success of BMW’s automotive division. Since the beginnings of its motorcycle manufacturing, BMW periodically introduced single-cylinder models. BMW offered the last of these, the R 27. Most of BMW’s offerings were still designed to be used with sidecars. By this time sidecars were no longer appealing to most riders; people were interested in sportier motorcycles. The R 50/2, R 60/2, and R69S marked the end of sidecar-capable BMWs. Of this era, the R 69 S remains the most desirable example of the dubbed “/2″ (”slash-two”) series because of significantly greater engine power than other models, amongst other features unique to this design.

IMT & BMW also provides Rental services for Motorsbikes specializing in BMWs..

Increase In Mini-Motorbikes Calls For One2Five Policy

Ruth Said:

Robert Balls of Bikesure said: “This is our fastest growth area. The popularity of these machines as an economical means of transport has continued to grow and this has been reflected by the uptake of the One2Five scheme. Through One2Five we also cover brands that other insurers can’t or won’t touch, as well as ‘high risk riders’ such as 17 year olds on race-style bikes.”

Bikesure’s One2Five policy riding high

With the credit crunch, wreaking havoc on consumers’ finances, scooters and other sub-125s are now being viewed as an increasingly attractive commuting option. They cost less than a car to buy and insuring a 125 machine can be less than 10 pence per mile to run. Many scooters can achieve 100 miles per gallon, so as well as saving money on insurance, road tax and servicing the motorists are reducing their carbon footprint also.

To keep insurance costs down, the One2Five scheme is very competitively priced and standard riders can receive an insurance quote online instantly. However, for more out of the ordinary bikes such as little known Far East imports, or for riders with convictions or medical conditions, he firm recommended that these insurance customers should contact one of their staff members; who are mostly motorcyclists themselves, so they understand the unique challenges that riders face and enjoy dealing with ‘problem’ situations that other brokers shun.

Ride safe on scooters

However, despite the convenience that the scooters and mini-motorbikes show, they are still viewed as dangerous. A community leader has expressed little sympathy for a young bike insurance holder who had to be airlifted to hospital following an accident.

According to regional newspaper, the Derbyshire Evening Telegraph, the unnamed rider was taken to Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham, by police helicopter after he crashed his 125cc Honda off-road motorbike. However, the former chairman of a cricket club based in, Alfreton, where the accident took place, refused to feel sorry for the victim.

Mr. Ivor Stevens said the accident had been “waiting to happen”, with young riders in the area having caused havoc in the local community for some time.

Mr Stevens added: “These lads ride their bikes around the park all the time. It’s an absolute nuisance.”

As well as facing a likely claim on his bike insurance policy, the rider in question broke both his wrist and arm in the accident, which took place in the early hours of Saturday on January 24th.

This comes after police in Nottinghamshire recently took steps to cut the number of bikers being seriously hurt or injured on the region’s roads. Officers carried out a month-long campaign in which they distributed close to 2,000 free safety packs, which included reflective backpacks and jackets.

Motorcyclists are being advised to look into the safety of their motorbikes. Additionally they are being advised not to make fake insurance claims

Arti Said:

With the recession leaving more people in Britain strapped for cash, an increasing number of motorists are ditching their cars and turning to two wheelers.

As a result, the number of car accidents in the UK has dropped by 8 per cent for the year ending March 2009 compared to the year before, according to recent figures from the Department for Transport, (DfT).

Simon Douglas, the director of insurance provider, AA Insurance, stated that he was not surprised by the results.

He said: “This year has seen fuel prices rise along with other demands on family budgets, as well as rising levels of redundancy; all of which discourages car use: indeed, the DfT notes that traffic volumes fell by 2 per cent over the year.”

Yet with the financial hole getting deeper and darker, the number of fraudulent claims have also soared as Brits attempt to find new ways to get hold of quick, easy cash in a bid to make ends meet.

However, those cheating on bike insurance could end up out of pocket in the future.

Fraudulent claims can only mean more debt

According to the Association of British Insurers (ABI), Britons who file false insurance claims will face higher insurance costs in the future and are more likely to be rejected for loans.

ABI stated that insurance firms and other financial institutions keep the fraudulent claims of individuals on databases which can affect their credit ratings.

However, a vast number of claims are genuine and the number of motorcyclists falling victim to bike theft is soaring along with the number of bikes across Britain’s roads.

According to the leading stolen vehicle recovery firm, Tracker, “more low value models” are catching the eye of thieves.

Bill Raynal, the managing director of Tracker, said: “Models such as the Peugeot Ludix worth just £1,000, are hot favourites with thieves, alongside £10,000 models such as the BMW R11650.”

In June this year, a test conducted by the insurance provider, More Than, found that bike thieves are becoming more efficient in walking away with bikes, with one vehicle being stolen at London Bridge railway station after just 17 minutes of being left alone.

Bike theft hotspots highlighted

Glasgow was found to be the second worst place for bike theft after the vehicle was stolen under one hour and 30 minutes, with Birmingham taking third place at just under two hours.

Marketing director Pete Markey of More Than, said: “The experiment has shown us that it doesn’t matter who you are or where you live: if you don’t take the necessary precautions, it’s only a matter of time before your bike is stolen.

It really does make sense then to ensure your bike is secured properly to an immovable object before you leave it unattended, and to think about taking out insurance cover just in case the worst should happen.”

Mr Raynal advised motorcyclists to ensure they secure their vehicles.

He said: “All motorcycle owners need to take steps to protect their assets, as the current economic climate means many households aren’t in the position to replace a stolen bike.

Having a tracking device installed offers owners that added level of security, increasing their chances of recovering their stolen bike.”

How Deterring Thieves Will Keep Motorbike Insurance Quotes Low

Thomas Pretty Said:

Motorbike insurance is an integral part of the pleasures of motorbike ownership. Not only are motorbikes easier to steal than cars but riders must also ensure their insurance covers them for personal injury and third party collisions. Despite this, motorbike insurance quotes are remarkably cheaper than quotes for a car. Most probably because cars are generally more expensive; but even with cheap cars, insurance quotes can be more than those of a motorbike.

According to a recent report on motorbike crime, theft of motorcycles went up one hundred and thirty five percent in the five years between 2000 and 2005. This unsurprisingly has driven up insurance quotes for those who own motorbikes. The level of theft has reached worrying proportions; it is now believed that more motorbikes are stolen then bought new in any twenty four hour period.

The extent of the problem is a headache for insurance companies who are forced to drive up premiums. Criminal gangs are believed to steal an estimated three million pounds worth of bikes every month; a truly shocking statistic. With it only taken on average twenty seconds to steal a motorbike there is little wonder why the level of theft has become so high.

The report has also given some idea of the level of motorbike crime in the UK and the various hotspots; mainly urban areas. The regions with the highest levels of bike theft were Greater Manchester, the West Midlands and West Yorkshire.

The reasons behind the thefts range from the splitting of bikes up for spare parts that will eventually make it onto the black market. Also bikes are believed to be stolen by ‘joyriders’ looking for a good time. Surprisingly however, the majority of bikes are stolen from houses, making insurance companies insist on garage storage.

One thing the insurance companies can do is insist motorbike owners install some form of tracking device. These devices have led to multiple recoveries of stolen bikes in the last few years. It is believed that one company’s tracking system led to two hundred and ninety two bikes being recovered in 2007; with an estimated worth of nearly three million pounds this is an impressive solution. Added to the bikes recovered, the tracking devices enabled police to break up seventy six professional theft rings and recover an extra two million pounds worth of stolen motorcycles.

The nemeses of the insurance companies are the organised crime syndicates that have made a lucrative business by stealing motorbikes. As the popularity of motorbike riding is increasing the trade for black market bikes and spares is also on the rise. The ease of stealing a motorbike is astounding as often it only means lifting a bike into the back of van and driving off.

It is mainly high powered sports bikes that are stolen and subsequently have the highest insurance quotes. Of the bikes stolen the most popular makes are Suzuki, Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki and Harley Davidson. New bikes are targeted predominantly due to the need for spare parts on the black market and the opportunity to sell the bikes whole.

So how can you prevent your motorbike from being stolen and keep insurance quotes down? Ensure to park your bike in a garage with obstacles obstructing the bikes path when at home. When away from home find a well lit parking spot in full view of a security camera to improve the safety of your bike. Never on any occasion leave the keys in your bike, even if you are only going to be five minutes. If selling your bike it is worth being wary of those taking test rides as they simply may never come back.

Following this advice may help to keep your motorbike insurance quotes at a reasonable level. There is no doubt that the theft of motorcycles is a lucrative business for the criminal fraternity. Deterring thieves should be a major concern and should ensure you have a bike to ride for years to come.

Tips To Lower Your Motorbike Insurance For All Riders

Paul Gray Said:

You might be a serious motorcycle enthusiast out every weekend for long rides over some of the best roads or you might just be a rider with a scooter who only rides to the office and back; regardless of what type of rider you are – one thing will hold true, you will want to lower your motorcycle insurance premium.

For young or new riders, the best thing that you can do to lower your bike insurance is complete the Driving Standards Agency ‘Compulsory Basic Training’. Most new riders will be impatient to get out on the road. However, it’s worth attending a course with a Driving Standards Agency approved instructor and preparing to take your test if you want to get the best rate of insurance possible. Once a new motorcycle rider receives a full license they are likely to see a reduction in their insurance premium straight away.

People who already have a full license and are over 21 have the option of taking an advanced motorcycle test which is offered by organisations such as the Institute of Advanced Motoring (IAM) and the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA).

The IAM advanced motorcycling test examines the rider in question’s ability to ride their motorcycle safely at speed in a variety of different situations, including on motorways, on country lanes and in city traffic. Insurance companies may offer discounts on premiums to those who have passed this or a similarly recognised exam.

It also pays to think about how you ride, whether you’ve passed your full test or are still learning. Riding safely and adhering to the Highway Code reduces the chance of being involved in an accident and can therefore improve the chances of earning a no claims discount when it comes time to renew the insurance policy.

A speeding conviction is also likely to mean higher insurance costs so staying within the speed limit is also a great way of keeping insurance premium costs down.

Keeping your motorcycle safe and secure may also help to reduce the cost of your cover. However, before fitting a security device to your motorcycle, make sure the device is approved by your insurer as fitting an unapproved device could render your policy invalid if your motorcycle is stolen.

Where your bike is left at night may also have an impact your insurance policy. If you’re able to keep it in a locked garage for example, this may earn you a lower premium.

The final thing to remember when trying to save money on your motorcycle insurance is to compare as many quotes as possible. If you’re looking at quotes with similar prices make sure you compare the excesses that apply to each policy. Looking at the benefits or options a policy offers is also important, as you should only pay for the cover you need personally.
